Robobloq Q-Scout on Amazon: http://geni.us/fBvI
This is a STEM robotics kit for children that will help them learn to assemble a small metal robot that has sensors and can be programmed with the Robobloq desktop or mobile phone app. The cool thing is because this has real metal alloy parts it isn’t just snapping lego bricks together, they have to use a screwdriver included and plug in the motors and sensors. The Q-Scout is durable and has a line tracking sensor which allows it to follow a black tape line, but it also has sensors to detect nearby objects and avoid bumping into objects while moving. With a built in speaker you can also have the Q-Scout play musical notes, and it has some pre-made songs or you can create your own musical tunes as you can program note by note what to play with the mobile app. You can also manually control the Q-Scout with the mobile app and drive it like an R/C Bot as well.
This Q-Scout robotics kit says rated for ages 6+ and I would say that is accurate, if your child is familiar with drag and drop programming apps and is already into more advanced coding this is a little on the younger side, but is ideal for having that hands on building not just drag and drop programming.
