So the Shark VM252 VACMOP Pro works better than I expected for a device that combines a vacuum with a mop into a single device. The pads have a plastic entry point where the vac part sucks dirt and debris sideways into the tray, while you can spray any cleaner you fill the tank with and mop after vacuuming. Some tips and tricks:
The vacuum only works moving forward, unlike a traditional vac where you can move forward and back, there is no spinning wheels so it can only suck up on forward passes, you have to constantly make turns and always move in a forward motion when using vacuum mode. There are no bristles and this VACMOP is only for carpetless hard floors, tile, lineoleum, vinyl, laminate, wood…etc. It is ideal for small debris, but because it pulls inward it is better for dirt, dust, pet fur than it is for say sand or small granules. The mop part is about on par with a Swiffer but you can use any cleaning fluid you want in the tank as you fill the tank instead of buying replaceable cleaning tanks.
The magnetic charging is pretty cool you just pop it on and off to charge, but would have been convenient to have a wall mount option. It is good for quick jobs if you have a doggie door and pets go in and out and track small debris, a little bit of mud…etc. The pads do a fairly good job of cleaning the hard floor depending on the strength of the cleaning fluid too to break up whatever stain or muck is on the surface.
I definitely like it better than a Swiffer and combining with having to use a broom first.
