This is a 4 Bay NAS Media server that runs ToS and you can use it to perform backups with RAID 0,1,5 support and even install application and run servers, there is Docker, AWS, Plex, WordPress and so many more software apps that can be installed and run from this home NAS/Application server.
Highly recommended you use HDD like the WD RED series or Seagate IRONWolf as the device is not for performance and using SSD drives would not yield the performance benefit from SSD in them. You can have more storage without using 1 drive for RAID 5, but the RAID 5 gives you better recovery if you should lose one of the volumes.
The case has an aluminum shell, and this has an ARM v8 quad-core 1.4GHz CPU with 1GB RAM (not upgradeable), blazingly fast read/write speeds of more than 114 MB/s (RAID 0, SATA III 4TB NAS hard drives x 2), hardware encryption. For better peformance, please use NAS dedicated hard drives. This NAS is compatible with 3.5″ and 2.5″ SATA HDD, 2.5″ SATA SSD. Each bay supports the HDD up to 16TB (Total of 64TB in RAID 0).
