In Elite Dangerous Planetary Landings may seem hard but once you learn how to do them they are a breeze. You always have to remember to come into the base station with it being ahead of you, never point direct at it when coming into the planet, make sure you always stay 7+ seconds distance when first coming in and when you start reaching the orbital zone, keep your speed throttled around the half way mark of the blue lines to left of your speed bar. As long as you slow yourself and get to 2.50 k/s when you reach the Drop Zone you will enter the glide which stays at 2500 k/s until you reach the drop line, if timed right and you glide a good distance balancing station distance and surface distance you can end the drop between 4km and 6km of the station and immediately request docking.
